About the Artist

Laura's deepest values are truth and freedom, and the purpose of her art is to increase, explore, and celebrate those values and to create art and spaces that allow others to do the same.

Laura was born in and grew up in Kenya, spending her childhood on the coast in Mombasa before moving to the capital and then further north to attend boarding school on the edge of the Great Rift Valley.

These early experiences navigating a world of extraordinary natural beauty and cultural diversity laid the bedrock for creating visual art that evokes a sense of wonder.

As an adult, she spend several years in Mexico and then traveled through South America and returned to Kenya again to retrace her childhood journey to better understand it. Then she summitted Kilimanjaro to celebrate and moved to the piney woods of East Texas to find out if a human with a nomadic life style and switch tracks, put down roots, and find out what it means to live in one place.

That was late 2019. Life changed a lot in 2020 in unexpected ways both on the global and local level. She moved her art sales to solely an online platform, and is soon launching a weekly conversational women's circle for expression and reflection (January 2021).
